EISI Overhauls NaviPlan Standard
New Version Built for Speed

Winnipeg, MB, Canada, September 7, 2007 -- Emerging Information Systems Inc. (EISI), developer of NaviPlan and Profiles financial planning software, today announced a new, faster version of its goal-based program, NaviPlan Standard.
"In NaviPlan Standard version 11.0, we focused on speed - both in terms of the user experience and software performance", says Dr. Mark Evans, President and CEO, EISI. "To identify key improvements, we closely examined how advisors use the program and how it responds."
Re-design based on study; advisor usage patterns
According to a third-party usability study commissioned by EISI, advisors are Internet-savvy so their software usage is heavily influenced by Web site browsing, particularly of news sites. To make NaviPlan Standard more intuitive for advisors, EISI incorporated design and navigational elements that are consistent with their usage patterns. The results are new menus and navigation bars, re-designed screens, anywhere-access to reports, and a client-file-creation wizard. As well, data entry requirements are dramatically reduced through the use of more drop-down menus, collapsible sections, and fewer fields.
Up to 10 times faster in performance testing
NaviPlan Standard version 11.0 marks a major milestone in EISI's next-generation architecture. A new technology platform reduces the bandwidth required to run the application and makes it dramatically faster. In performance testing, screen-to-screen transitions are up to 10 times faster than the previous version. As well, NaviPlan Standard instantly displays calculation results and on-screen graphics, which are automatically updated when advisors make changes (i.e., comparing side-by-side What-if scenarios).
"NaviPlan Standard version 11.0 achieves an optimal balance between usability and functionality," says Evans. "Advisors move through the program much faster and still have the planning features they need to address all of their clients' needs."
NaviPlan Standard is a goal-based program comprised of simple needs-assessment tools and modular planning levels. In May 2006, it was the first software application to incorporate retirement distribution planning into the financial planning process. EISI releases at least one major software upgrade every year, based on ongoing research and client feedback.
