NaviPlan Software Release to Address Evolving Market Needs
Winnipeg, Canada - May 4, 2006: Emerging Information Systems Inc. (EISI), developer of NaviPlan financial planning software, today announced it will release NaviPlan USA Version 10.1 on May 12, 2006. This software release is a major upgrade, in terms of new planning features and usability enhancements, for NaviPlan Standard and NaviPlan Extended, in both the Offline and Web-based formats.
“We work closely with advisors and firms to set the direction for our software enhancements,” said Dr. Mark Evans, President & CEO, EISI. “As competition in the financial services industry intensifies, firms are looking for tools that give them a competitive edge and help them work more efficiently.”
New retirement distribution planning features in NaviPlan Standard
Building on the framework introduced in NaviPlan Standard Version 10, EISI added more retirement distribution planning features that help advisors address the needs of clients who are approaching retirement.
“As millions of Baby Boomers head toward retirement, their planning needs are shifting from asset accumulation to retirement income distribution strategies,” said Evans. He added, “It is widely anticipated that these near-retirees will consolidate assets around this life event so advisors who are equipped to meet their needs will win more business.”
In Version 10.1, advisors can quickly create or run pre-defined strategies for the following retirement distribution scenarios: liquidation order of assets; Social Security income options; additional post-retirement incomes and expenses; and annuitization options. Strategies can be illustrated in side-by-side comparisons and included in client reports. Version 10.1 also includes a new Retirement Distribution Summary report, which is designed to help advisors educate near-retirees about inherent risks in retirement distribution planning and strategies to help them achieve their goals.
Easy-to-use levels in NaviPlan Extended
NaviPlan Extended Version 10.1 is segmented into levels, which includes a pre-planning or needs-assessment level called the Financial Assessment. It is designed to quickly engage clients and prospects in an advice-based relationship. Advisors can assess retirement, education, and major purchase goals, and do basic insurance and estate analysis, in five to 10 minutes. The Financial Assessment can be promoted to either of two planning levels, which is also new in NaviPlan Extended. Level 1 is a subset of the application that requires significantly less data entry. If required, these plans can be promoted to Level 2 to reveal the full functionality of NaviPlan Extended.
“We’ve re-designed NaviPlan Extended to enable advisors to do a quick assessment or a simple plan with minimal data input, and yet still have access to the full functionality to do sophisticated plans,” says Evans.
In addition to planning enhancements in NaviPlan Extended Version 10.1, the application will be fully compatible with NaviPlan Central, EISI’s Web-based platform. Firms that subscribe to NaviPlan Central can provide advisors with online / offline access to NaviPlan software and assign specific entitlements to individuals and groups, in order to control the levels and types of features they access. For management, NaviPlan Central provides access to important compliance tools that enable them to actively participate in the plan approval process and oversee financial planning activity.
