EISI’s first major Profiles release is not to be underestimated
Since EISI’s acquisition of Profiles last August, the more than 50,000 users of Profiles software have been wondering what would become of their planning tool. Would it become obsolete in NaviPlan’s shadow or a NaviPlan clone, or would EISI’s proven expertise in the industry result in a stronger application?
Profiles Professional version 8.0 is EISI’s first major Profiles release. Says Joel Bruckenstein in the Financial Advisor magazine article Much-Needed Makeover: “It is by far the best Profiles ever.”
With a brand-new look, Profiles Professional v8.0 retains its unique characteristics while increasing user productivity and efficiency. The once cluttered interface now clearly guides users down an efficient path.
From the Welcome screen, users can either create or open an existing case. When creating a new plan, users can choose from three case modes that graduate in depth and detail. Once analysis options are made, data-entry and reporting options reflect the advisor’s choices. The process of modifying existing cases has also improved vastly. A single link enables advisors to seamlessly expand the depth or breadth of cases as clients’ needs change over time.
Says Bruckenstein: “The new interface is so much better that it should lead to improved, more customized plans in less time. The impact of these improvements should not be underestimated.”
Other enhancements include: a new asset allocation set-up that lets users either set return assumptions or use Ibbotson default rates; new retirement distribution functionality that enables advisors to either create a customized liquidation strategy or choose between two programmed liquidation methods; updated client reports and forms that are more printer-friendly and cost-effective to produce for advisors, and display only the most relevant details to clients.
Says Bruckenstein: “Despite the makeover, there is virtually no learning curve for current users. While much has changed, it is almost all for the better. The interface is intuitive, so you don’t find yourself searching for fields or functions. They are all readily accessible.”
