Ambitious plans for NaviPlan in 2004: Financial Advisor Magazine reports on the significant enhancements

The latest review of financial planning technology to hit the presses examines the significant product enhancements planned for EISI's forthcoming NaviPlan Standard and NaviPlan Extended upgrades.

Financial Advisor magazine's article, titled "What's new for 2004", which appears in the January 2004 issue, reports: "The major emphasis for NaviPlan version 9.0 will be in four areas: client reporting, estate planning, non-traditional couple support, and usability."

Among the new features in NaviPlan version 9.0 is an abbreviated, client-focused report that has been designed for advisors to use as a sales piece. "The report, which is long on graphics and short on text, clearly delineates the weaknesses in a client’s current financial condition and provides suggested remedies. The goal is to grab the client’s attention and spur the client to take action."

The estate-planning module is receiving a complete overhaul, including the estate planning flow chart and the estate planning reports.

NaviPlan version 9.0 is introducing planning support for non-traditional couples in the areas of tax filing status and tax dependent relationships, and will use lifestyle-sensitive terminology in client reports.

"Usability has been enhanced in a number of areas," the article reads. "Navigation, particularly in the online version, is greatly improved. Numerous other small but important improvements to page layouts and reports significantly improve the overall user experience."

Look for EISI's application service provider model (ASP) offering this summer, which will enable advisors in small-/mid-sized businesses to access Browser-based versions of NaviPlan Standard and NaviPlan Extended over the Web, and integrate with online data sources to import accounts and holdings data directly into NaviPlan
